Corporate Finance Associate

Role Summary

We are looking for an Associate to join our Corporate Finance Advisory team focused on capital and debt raising, M&A advisory and debt syndication transactions with a focus on West Africa across consumer, industrials, infrastructure, natural resources and power sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and experienced individual to join an upcoming Africa-focused investment bank.

Profile

  • ▪ Distinctive academic record.
  • • Relevant 3+ years’ experience in CIB or corporate finance advisory or investment banking.
  • • Professional qualification in finance
  • • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling.
  • ▪ Collaborate with junior team members and contribute to client relationship management.
  • • Ability to work effectively in teams under time pressure and manage multiple commitments
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
  • • Exhibit critical thinking and the ability to solve unstructured problems.
  • • Strong interest in general economic and geo-political trends over Africa.

Responsibilities

  • • Execution of corporate finance transactions, including M&A, capital raising, and restructuring.
  • • Prepare of bespoke client presentations pitch books, and detailed reports for client meetings and internal discussions.
  • • Develop and in-depth understanding of the key dynamics of the African banking markets and its regulatory frameworks.
  • • Keep close contact with the clients, understand their business and financing needs.
  • • Working with the MD / Head of the Corporate Finance Advisory leading the pitch preparation and pitch delivery.
  • • Participate in the development of the firm’s network of potential lenders with strategic interest over Africa
  • • Conduct financial analysis, valuation, and modelling to support transaction processes.
  • • Perform market research and industry analysis to identify potential opportunities and industry trends.
  • • Participate in junior talent development initiatives
